Hi there! So glad you’re here…

I’m Katie Geis, the artist behind KJG Fine Art. I’m an American artist, based just north of Chicago in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. I specialize in live event paintings and commissioned work, specifically impasto florals and landscapes. This job, if I can even call it that, has allowed me to travel and send my work all over the world.

Since I was a little kid, I’ve primarily been inspired by landscapes and the close up details of plants. My childhood was spent in San Jose, California, and I’ve found my work has been a culmination of my surroundings growing up. I’m especially drawn to the way light plays a role in drastically enhancing it’s subject, extracting stunning and unexpected colors.  While I enjoy nature and floral scenes the most, I also dabble in fashion illustration, and architectural paintings.

I’m coming up on ten years in my career as an artist, and am so grateful for the opportunities I’ve had so far, and the friendships I’ve made. When I first began, I never would have dreamed this job was real. I can’t begin to describe how humbled and grateful I am to everyone who has paved the way.

Currently, my focus is on live wedding and event paintings, as well as the next collection release for summer/fall 2024.

When I’m not painting, my time is spent with my family of three itty bitty kiddos and the kindest husband.

As always, thank you for being here. It means the world to me. Much love, Katie

Philosophy –

Oftentimes, when I’m live painting at events, a guest will look at my work and comment, “There’s no way I could do that.” To which I respond, “Then you must be talented elsewhere.” And I believe it. We all enter this world with a unique set of God-given talents and abilities. For me, that’s painting, for others it might be the way you articulate your words, or the selflessness you show to those around you. It’s all beautiful in its own way. The ultimate fulfillment for me is to use these gifts given me to spread God’s love and kindness to others.

While art can be appealing to the eye, it also generates a myriad of emotions. It’s a unifier, an ameliorating agent, it can satisfy a nostalgic heart. Or simply, it can make you happy. That’s my aim. My work is meant to bring joy.
